What happens when many hands contribute to one shared work, day after day? The Re-Use Art Factory: Community Weave sets out to answer exactly that. Using recycled plastic materials sourced on-site, a growing community artwork takes shape. Creative, sustainable, and open to all age groups. No prior experience required!
Weaving is one of the oldest cultural techniques in human history. Once used primarily for textile production, it has since evolved into a recognized form of artistic expression. In Community Weave, this age-old practice is reimagined as a collective creative process, where individual threads come together to form a unified, shared artwork.
Community Weave combines hands-on creativity with important lessons in recycling, material reuse, and environmental awareness. Children, teens, and adults alike can explore how so-called waste materials can be transformed into something of real value. In this way, design becomes a dialogue about resources, sustainability, and working together.
The final artwork, created throughout the month, will be prominently displayed in The Playce or elsewhere on-site.
