Studio ROOF was founded in 2005 by the Russian-Dutch couple Romy & Ilya. With their three young children, they embarked on a journey of imagination, initially designing cardboard objects to play with. As their children grew up, however, their designs outgrew their age and developed into timeless and increasingly decorative objects.
Studio ROOF has now developed into a successful family business with ten team members who work, design and play together like an extended creative family.
For their first exhibition in a public space, Studio ROOF teamed up with the Berlin design studio UND. Together they designed a series of colorful, larger-than-life objects inspired by the popular modular plug-in figures and objects with which Studio ROOF has become so successful.
Birds of paradise, butterflies and large tropical flowers invite the viewer to immerse themselves in an imaginative, colorful world. You can make yourself comfortable under a sprawling tree and listen to the hustle and bustle of the square in the shade of the large green leaves.
Elsewhere, beetles, butterflies and imaginative creatures invite you to linger and climb, and in a quiet side street you come across a bird of paradise that looks down curiously on its onlookers with its proud crown of feathers.
Embark on a wonderful journey and discover Studio ROOF's fascinating works at Potsdamer Platz and The Playce until the end of 2024.
