Fashion as a promise

Fashion as a promise

Neo.Fashion. at Potsdamer Platz

Berlin, End of June. At Potsdamer Platz, the past and the present meet at all times of the year. But during these hot early summer days, a large piece of future joins in. Because final preparations are underway for Neo.Fashion. – a platform for emerging fashion talents as part of Berlin Fashion Week. On July 2 & 3, the Potsdamer Platz becomes a meeting point for everyone who believes in the future of fashion – and wants to help shape it.

We sat down for a conversation with the CEO Jens Zander, as well as Charlotte and Anaëlle, who run the Berlin-based label W1P Studios and will present their new collection at Neo.Fashion.

Charlotte and Anaëlle from W1P Studios

What does it mean to you to present your collection as part of Fashion Week?

For me, what makes it special is this sense of momentum: everything we’ve been working on for months is coming together now. The show, the guests, the music, you can create a truly unique atmosphere. Fashion Week really is a very, very special moment.

Does Berlin as a place influence your designs?

There’s always something happening in Berlin. There's a huge art scene. There’s a lot of room to be individual and diverse. Yes, I would definitely say the city has a big influence on us.

In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges for young fashion designers today?

Fast fashion – and standing up against all the giants in the industry. Especially when you work sustainably and place value on inclusion and diversity, it’s tough. Visibility is also a challenge. There are so many amazing designers and brands, and getting noticed among them is often not easy.

What do you wish for the next generation of designers and their future?

That platforms like Neo.Fashion. – and many others – continue to exist and keep supporting young talents. There’s so much creative potential out there. I also hope even more support is given to sustainability in the fashion world.

What role does Neo.Fashion. play for the participants?

For us personally, it’s something very special. Two years ago, we presented our graduation collection there as recent university graduates. Now, two years later, we’ve founded our label and are coming back with our new show – also as a preparation for the next big steps we hope to take.

Jens Zander CEO

In your own words: What is Neo.Fashion.?

Neo.Fashion. is the largest platform for fashion talents from all over Germany. It’s where fresh ideas, bold designs, and inspiring people come together.

What sets Neo.Fashion. apart from other fashion shows?

We don’t just provide a stage, we create a space for inspiration, exchange, and the future. We want to open doors to the fashion industry for creative minds. Here, they can present themselves to a wide audience, the professional press, and key decision-makers. For many, participating is a real career booster – whether it's an internship, the first job, or launching their own label.

What does Potsdamer Platz as a venue mean to you?

Potsdamer Platz is the perfect spot for us – located right in the heart of Berlin, steeped in history, vibrant, and a place that stands for change and new perspectives.

“Fashion for Future” is a central theme. How do you implement sustainability in concrete terms?

We work with service providers who produce in a resource-conscious way, focus on environmentally friendly materials, and continuously optimize our processes. We also actively promote partnerships with sustainable collaborators and give designers a stage to showcase their eco-conscious and forward-looking concepts.

What are your goals with Neo.Fashion.?

In the short term: to increase relevance and visibility among all decision-makers in politics, industry, and the broader network. In the long term: to establish Neo.Fashion. as a permanent platform and to create year-round opportunities for talents beyond just the summer shows.

Whoever is at Potsdamer Platz on July 2 & 3 won’t just be seeing fashion, they’ll be experiencing what fashion can truly be – invitation, attitude, future. All information and tickets
