THE MOUSE IS GONE? NOT A CHANCE! The Diddl Mouse is back! Let’s be honest: who didn’t spend hours as a child sorting, swapping and treasuring Diddl cards as if they were little treasures? That very feeling is coming back now, and at the end of July, the cult mouse will be landing right in the middle of Potsdamer Platz.
A bit of history, for all those who are excited: it all began in August 1990, when illustrator Thomas Goletz picked up his pen. The funny thing is: at first, the character wasn’t a mouse at all, but a kangaroo! But then ‘this mouse hopped onto the paper’ – cheeky, lively, perfect. He called her Diddl. Postcards and soft toys followed, and then the legendary sheets, which sparked a veritable collecting and swapping craze in every school playground. Who still remembers the sheets that smelled of vanilla, chocolate and the like?
But around ten years ago, it really was ‘game over’. Sales were discontinued. But now comes the big comeback! Under the slogan ‘Diddl is back’, the mouse has been back since October 2025, initially in France and Belgium, where the new collection sold out in no time at all. And best of all: in 2026, Diddl is set to conquer Germany once again.
By the way: genuine collector’s items from the early 90s are worth their weight in gold today. Individual pages fetch between 10 and 50 euros, whilst complete booklets can go for as much as 500 euros! So why not dig out that old Diddl folder from the loft?
So on 20 July, childhood will be celebrated at Potsdamer Platz. At the Duo Flagship Store, it’ll be all about Diddl with various activities. Grab your nostalgia and come along!
