Festival of Lights 2026

The 22nd Berlin Festival of Lights will take place from 9 to 18 October 2026. Under the theme ‘Colours of Love’, you can experience spectacular light installations, projections and illuminated art throughout Berlin and around Potsdamer Platz. The Playce and the entire area will be transformed into an open-air gallery, which you can explore on your own or as part of a free walking tour.

Light art: a blend of icons and surprises At Potsdamer Platz, well-known landmarks meet unusual light art. Discover projections on the Kollhoff Tower, the Forum Tower and Haus Huth. Follow countless butterflies made of light and experience a spectacular hanging sculpture at The Playce. The square itself will also become an illuminated work of art. International and up-and-coming artists transform façades and locations into striking images. Whether after work, with friends or on your own: the installations invite you to rediscover Berlin and enjoy the special festival atmosphere right in the heart of the city.

Free walking tour at Potsdamer Platz Would you like to find out more about the light installations and make sure you don’t miss a single one? On this free walking tour, you’ll experience the Festival of Lights around Potsdamer Platz up close. The one-hour tours take place daily at 8.00 pm and 9.30 pm.
