What started as a TikTok trend in the US has taken Berlin by storm and now has a permanent home at Potsdamer Platz. A trinket box is now hanging in The Playce, open to everyone who wants to join in. The concept is simple: leave a small item, take a small item. Bag charms, collectible figures, stickers, handmade bits and bobs, anything goes and everything is for free.
The person behind Berlin's trinket movement is content creator Malina Florentine, who installed the city's first trinket box at Arnimplatz in Prenzlauer Berg. The response it got was bigger than even she expected. Her TikTok videos went viral, showing just how much excitement one small box can spark. The Playce now gives the trinket box a safe, sheltered spot with long opening hours, every day from 6am to 11pm.
Find it on the ground floor, directly opposite Manifesto Market. Come by and leave some to get some!
