As part of Creative Summer, Alte Potsdamer Straße is once again being transformed into one of Berlin’s most exciting open-air galleries. The Open Air Gallery and the Live Wall Painting Spots bring together leading local street artists and Berlin-based artists.
26 artworks along Alte Potsdamer Straße: outdoors, free of charge, always accessible. On display are works by artists who have been major figures on the Berlin art scene for years: as was the case last year, these include Rommy Gon, Miss Glueniverse, Meltem Bayram, Caro Pepe, Michael Weingart, Caro Amaya, DXTR, Vikunia and Kera are taking part. Different styles, colours and visual languages, all connected by the shared space they inhabit. New additions this year are: Lisa Tegtmeier, Nadine Werjant, Mina Mania, SOKAR UNO, MATE and Nensetango.
Live Painting: Two dates, two walls The two wall spots are particularly worth seeing: temporary street art installations created right there on the spot. Not a finished painting that’s hung up, but a process you can watch unfold. 27 June: MATE takes over the first Wall Spot. 4 July: Nensetango designs the second. Anyone there can see something take shape from an empty space. It’s a different experience to any museum.
Every day, 24/7! The Open Air Gallery runs all summer long. No opening hours, no admission fee, no crowds. Anyone passing by Alte Potsdamer Straße late at night will see the same works as at midday, just in a different light.
